We are passionate about providing high quality education and care to all the children at Poppies Day Nursery. We carefully select our nursery teams who are dedicated to, and have a natural understanding of, young children's needs. We both have over 30 years experience each of working with children in many different capacities. Linda has worked in state-run nurseries, neo-natal baby units, and in a special educational needs school, as well as having two adult children, Catherine and Daniel, of her own. Anne has worked in children's nurseries but also has a wealth of experience as a Childcare Inspector working for Social Services. Prior to opening Poppies, she was an Ofsted Inspector of Early Years and Education for five years. Anne has three adult sons of her own, Richard, Michael and George.
Poppies is very much a family business. We have a very high expectation of all our Nursery Managers to ensure that an excellent standard of care and education is maintained in all settings at all times. We are frequently hands on at the nurseries; it is very important to us that the children know us and our staff feel supported by us as Directors of Poppies.
At Poppies, we make every day stimulating and fun for all the children in our care. We always value children as unique and curious individuals, and we respect childhood as a very special and important time in their lives.
We will always do our best to nurture and support the children during their learning journey. We will endeavour to provide a safe and secure environment where children become independent, confident learners by giving them support and encouragement to enable them to reach their full potential.
We always consider each child's individual needs and ensure that they have several visits into the next group to assess their readiness for the transition.
