We are delighted to have received 'Very Good' and the highest grade of '5' for our food hygiene at all Poppies Nurseries.

At Poppies we have experienced  chefs who prepare nutritiously healthy meals, which include breakfast as necessary, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack and high tea.

Our Nursery Cooks use fresh meat, fruit and vegetables to provide freshly prepared meals daily. We are proud to say that our nurseries are accredited with the Smile Award and our menus have been approved by the Bucks NHS Health Team, who state that they are healthy and nutritiously balanced.

Babies home feeding routines are continued in the nursery and we work alongside parents to introduce a successful weaning programme.

Mealtimes are a social occasion and an opportunity for children and staff to interact within our family environment. Children are encouraged to try new foods and widen their knowledge and tastes. Older children are given the opportunity to select and serve their own food. Children's own creation of recipes forms part of our tea time menu.

‘Food and outdoor time is excellent. Food is well balanced and my children eat a much more varied diet at Poppies than they do at home and are encouraged to try food they will not eat at home – thank you!  I love the fact that the children spend plenty of time outdoors.’

‘It is great to see that they have lots of fruit for pudding. I really like the menu and wish I could have lunch there every day.’
