Poppies Beaconsfield was launched in 2011. We are delighted with how our nursery has grown! The childcare team are extremely dedicated and committed to providing excellent care and education to all the children at the nursery.
Poppies Beaconsfield has been developed in two beautiful barn conversions in Beaconsfield Old Town. The nursery has undergone major building improvements to create a Baby Nest & Little Explorer unit for children aged 0 - 2 years. Our Babies and Little Explorers enjoy frequent access to our designated baby garden.

Poppies Beaconsfield is managed by Kim Woodman, who holds the National Nursery Examination Board Certificate and, in September 2013, she graduated from University with a BA Honours Degree in Early Years Childhood Studies. Kim has worked at the nursery for 18 years and has built strong relationships with the families who attend. She loves seeing the children grow and develop, and can always be found reading stories and playing with them.
Kim is supported by Katie Hawes, Deputy Manager, who has worked at the nursery for almost 12 years and has vast experience working with babies and young children.
Kim is the Designated Person for Safeguarding Children within the nursery.
"This was the fifth nursery we viewed and instantly knew it was the one we wanted to send our son to. The staff are welcoming, friendly and always, always, smiling, as are all the children. My son has been incredibly happy at Poppies and has really thrived with his learning. The outside space is by far the best in the area with 3 or 4 times the space compared to other nurseries. Overall, it is an excellent nursery which we have no hesitation in recommending! "
"Children and babies are happy and confident. They enjoy the time they spend in this welcoming nursery. Children build close bonds with the staff who are kind, caring and respond well to their individual needs. Children and babies settle quickly and feel emotionally secure." (Ofsted, 2017)
"The management team is committed to providing children with high-quality care and education. It has high expectations for children and carefully reflects, plans and takes action effectively to help them achieve. Children make good progress in their learning." (Oftsed, 2017)
'Just to let you know that M has settled in so unbelievably well into life at his new school. He loves going to school, loves getting dressed into uniform and bounces there and back every day with a sparkle in his eye. I believe you all at Poppies have allowed for a smooth transition from nursery to school, and prepared him well. I am so very proud of him, and so relieved that he is so happy and content. So here's to you all! THANK YOU!' (Mrs B)
‘I am extremely happy with the staff at Poppies, I couldn’t be happier! I am always informed of what my son has done during the day, they remember little things to tell me. They go above and beyond to make my child happy and feel safe at nursery. If he is a little sad at drop off they make a fuss of him to help him get through it, which never takes long! They have a good rapport together, which I feel is a necessity. They are excellent at making up games for the children to play, making learning fun!’
Sunken sandpit with a cover, which allows children to explore throughout all weathers.
In the distance, our sunken sandpit and boat. Our children use their imaginations to sail off into the sunset on a pirate adventure.
Our mud kitchen, ready for a day of cake and potion making. What this photo doesn't show you is the full-size bath tub that is full of soil for children to explore. Oh to be a child again!
Our children have the freedom and space to explore our extensive garden several times a day, in order to develop their gross motor skills. What a view!
