Poppies Bourne End opened in April 2006. We are situated in a beautifully converted methodist church and have created a very homely and welcoming environment. Poppies Bourne End were delighted to receive our second Outstanding outcome in all areas at our Ofsted inspection in 2013.
Poppies Bourne End has a vibrant vegetable patch and the children take part in our gardening club. The children enjoy eating their home grown fruit and vegetables through out the year.
We have a large natural exploration area where children enjoy searching for mini-beasts, playing in a mud kitchen and handling wooden natural materials.

Poppies Bourne End is managed by Kelly Panter who joined us in March 2006 as our Deputy Manager. She has played a major part in the development of Poppies Day Nurseries. Kelly has a diploma in Childcare and Education and has many years of day nursery experience. In July 2011, Kelly completed her BA Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies.
Kelly is supported by Bethany Jones, Deputy Manager. Bethany holds Qualified Teacher Status and has been part of the Poppies family for many years.
Kelly’s four-year-old son now attends Poppies Day Nursery. Kelly is currently on maternity leave, having given birth to a baby girl in May 2017.
'I cant praise Poppies enough. Kelly is a fantastic Manager, the girls are lovely and make me feel that Archie is very loved. I couldn't wish for a better nursery!' (Mrs T)
'A wonderful, caring environment. Our daughter is now 18 months old and has really flourished at Poppies since starting in the Baby Nest just before her first Birthday. She absolutely loves it; she is such a busy little girl and the variety of activities, outdoor play and interaction with the staff and other children is fantastic. The staff are so caring and attentive to her needs, and get just as excited as my husband and I do over her developments! It is almost time for her to move up to the next room (something I feel quite emotional about as the Baby Nest team have been so wonderful) and the way in which the staff are managing the transition is so considered; they are making every effort to ensure continuity of care and make the move as smooth as possible for our little girl. Needless to say we are very happy that we chose Poppies.'
While Kelly is on maternity leave, Charlotte King is managing Poppies Bourne End. Charlotte has extensive experience working in a day nursery, having worked at Poppies Beaconsfield (previously Beaconsfield Nursery) for 18 years. Prior to this, Charlotte studied Social Work for 2 years at University, gaining experience in child protection and working in partnership with families. Charlotte holds a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education.
Charlotte has two children: a 4-year-old daughter, who attends Poppies Beaconsfield, and a 2-year-old son, who attends Poppies Bourne End.
‘My son and I LOVE Poppies Day Nursery at Bourne End and we are very happy with the environment.’
